We’re starting 2025 by sharing something special with you - your guide to this year's most extraordinary gatherings around the world. What we love most about our community: somewhere in the world, Bears are always celebrating. From sun-soaked beaches to historic cities, each gathering holds its own magic while embracing that warm, accepting spirit that makes our furry family special. 

Bear Carnival, Maspalomas

Location: Gran Canaria, Spain

This fantastic gathering is turning 10, bringing together more than 3,000 thick, hairy men for 11 unforgettable days in Gran Canaria's subtropical paradise. The programme goes beyond typical Bear Week offerings, featuring over 60 activities. From wellness retreats where Bears find their zen in mountain lodges to naked boat cruises along dramatic coastlines, the Bear community finds countless ways to come together.

Even in spring, Maspalomas - Europe's largest beach resort - basks in summer-like warmth. Every year, a new theme adds fun to the festivities, creating moments that will stay with you long after you return home. Whether you're a first-timer or returning for another year, you'll discover an attitude-free atmosphere that embodies everything wonderful about bear culture.

Bear Week, Provincetown (Ptown)

Since 2001, Bears, Cubs, Otters, and Chasers have transformed this charming New England coastal town into the world's largest celebration of the bear community. What makes this week special isn't just its scale – it's the way Ptown welcomes Bears from every corner of the world to its historic streets and gorgeous beaches.

The week offers something for everyone, from poolside socials to themed parties, from quiet beach moments to lively community fundraisers. Days overflow with possibilities: get up close and personal in one of the town's three pools, join the legendary afternoon tea dances, or take a moment to catch your breath atop the Pilgrim Monument as you soak in the endless stunning coastline.

Ptown's deep-rooted LGBTQ+ heritage creates an atmosphere where body positivity isn't just celebrated – it's the norm. From wandering down Commercial Street to relaxing on the beach, the welcoming spirit makes everyone feel at home. This gathering embodies everything wonderful Bear’s: acceptance, joy, and the freedom to be completely yourself.

Reykjavík Bear

Location: Reykjavík, Iceland

Reykjavík Bear welcomes thick, hairy men to the world's northernmost capital. Run by Bangsafélagið (Bears of Iceland), it's where rugged landscapes meet warm hearts, creating an experience unlike any other in the Bear community. Imagine soaking in geothermal pools while enjoying a drink with newfound friends.

The programme goes beyond typical festivities, creating a unique blend of cultural immersion, nature exploration, and chances to form lasting friendships. Each year, our furry family discovers Iceland's stunning beauty and the warmth of its local community through thoughtfully curated activities and celebrations.

Like many of our beloved traditions, Reykjavík Bear comes to life through dedicated volunteers. Through Bangsafélagið, this non-profit celebration creates an experience where lasting memories and lifelong friendships bloom against the backdrop of Iceland's dramatic landscape.

Sitges Bear Week

Location: Sitges, Spain
Dates: 5 to 15 September 2025

Bears, Cubs, Otters, and Chasers have transformed this Mediterranean paradise into Europe's fastest-growing celebration, with 8,000 attending last year. Here, coastal culture blends perfectly with Bear life, creating an experience that keeps thick, hairy men coming back year after year.

Your days here fall into a beautiful rhythm. Mornings might find you at one of 3 stunning beaches – Platja de la Bassa Rodona buzzes with energy, the more laid-back Platja dels Balmins offers clothing-optional areas, or you can head to the secluded Playa del Muerto for a quieter spot. When the sun rises, our furry family lounges on golden sand, takes refreshing dips in crystal-clear waters, or shares stories over cold drinks at beachfront bars.

In the evenings, Bears make their way down narrow streets, stopping to enjoy traditional tapas. The scent of garlic and seafood mingles with the sea breeze. Bears finally gather in Judgement Square and Bear Alley, where bars and clubs welcome them late into the night. The festivities then flow toward the famous Bear Village along the seafront promenade, transforming it into a vibrant hub with pop-up bars, live entertainment, and that indescribable Bear Week energy.

Key West Bear Weekend

Picture yourself at America's most laid-back gathering, where tropical paradise meets Bear-sized fun. While newer than some other events, this intimate celebration has quickly captured hearts with its perfect blend of relaxation and revelry. Thick, hairy men from around the world find themselves catching their breath at the sheer beauty of Key West sunsets. 

The celebration centres around legendary pool parties, where Bears watch the sunset surrounded by their furry family from around the world. Parties and themed nights fill the schedule, while the Halloween timing adds an extra sense of magic – imagine thick, hairy men in bear ears, leather, and camp costumes against the backdrop of Key West's historic streets.

This tiny island, long a sanctuary for the LGBTQ+ community, embraces its motto "One Human Family" with open arms. The laid-back vibe perfectly matches bear culture's emphasis on authenticity and acceptance. Whether you're ordering key lime pie at a local restaurant, exploring the island's rich history, or dancing under the stars, you'll find yourself embraced by one of the most welcoming gatherings anywhere in the world.

BearScots Fest

The long weekend showcases Edinburgh's rich heritage and vibrant social scene. Bears gather in centuries-old venues where the sweet aroma of single malt whisky fills the air, sharing drams and drama beneath worn wooden beams..

From cosy fireside chats to lively parties, the Bear community finds countless ways to embrace Scottish culture. The highlight arrives with the crowning of Mr. BearScots, a tradition embodying the playful spirit of the weekend.

What makes this meetup special is its deep connection to Scotland's Bear community. Organised by BearScots, it maintains that perfect balance between festival atmosphere and community spirit. Their dedication to bringing Bears together in the Scottish capital has created an experience that celebrates authenticity and acceptance in all its forms.
